I had a crown put on a front tooth, but now my dentist is saying that I need to pull that tooth and put in a partial denture. I’m only 29. I can’t stand the idea of not having a tooth. I don’t want to pull this tooth, but I see I have no choice. Isn’t there any other option?

Sara,
Are you asking if there is another option for saving the tooth or for replacement? It sounds like this tooth has already had some problems because you mentioned it having a dental crown. You didn’t say why your dentist thought it needed to be extracted, so it is impossible for me to tell you if there is another option.
If you’re asking if there is another option for replacement, then I can definitely help. You don’t have to have a missing tooth with a removable partial denture. Instead, you can have a dental implant placed. This will replace your tooth. In fact, it is as close to having your own natural tooth as you possibly can. No one will even be able to tell that you have a missing tooth.
