I have a chipped tooth in the very front. Though I’ve had it redone several times, I still do not think it looks right. Plus, I have pain in my gums. Do you think I should give up on the bonding and get Lumineers instead?
Carrie P.- Milwaukee
Carrie,
I wouldn’t give up on the bonding just yet. Even if you did, I would not recommend having your dentist place your Lumineers. Lumineers are just a particular brand of porcelain veneers. If he can’t match your tooth color in dental bonding, the Lumineers will be a mess. The pain is more than likely also from improper placement. There may be a rough edge or overhang of the bonding under your gum. Once they are properly placed, you will not only be pain free, you will have a smile you can be proud of.
It is important you get the work done by a qualified cosmetic dentist. If you’re having trouble knowing how to determine the right qualifications, you can use mynewsmile.com to locate a cosmetic dentist. They’re choosy who they recommend, so you can be sure if the dentist is on their list, he or she is well worth visiting.
